While 4 Paws Service Dogs are easily identified with their red vests, you may often see our service dogs wearing a “gentle leader.” The gentle leader is designed similarly to a horse’s halter that fits over the nose without applying the pressure you may see with certain muzzles.
Instead, the gentle leader leaves plenty of freedom for the dog to eat, drink, pant, and play while wearing it. Gentle leaders are designed to discourage the dog from leaping and jumping without causing damage or pain to the dog.
